Manufactured following the English tradition and with no color addition, the result is an ivory white product. The cheese can can be ripened for months creating a different texture and color, and enhancing its flavor.
A young Cheddar Cheese, less than 3 months old, is of a soft and velvety taste, and of tender paste. When matured, its flavor tends to be slightly astringent, its aroma more intense, its mouthfeel softer, becoming creamy and of yellow tones. It is characterized by melting easily and grating evenly with a medium toasted.
The NAVARRO Cheddar Cheese is appreciated for its versatility, since it can be used as a snack, grilled, gratin or as an ingredient. It is a basic element in regional, national and international gastronomy.
It can be served cold, simply cubed or in some preparation. The taste of NAVARRO Cheddar Cheese is perceived totally different, as in most cheeses, when it is consumed cold or already grilled.
Its capacity of grill and gratin are the most appreciated, as it has the consistency to form a string, without dripping, browning, giving the dishes a garnish with salty, buttery touches, ideal for seafood, pastas and pizzas. It is suitable for fondues, sauces, dressings and even desserts.
It is a good garnish without its flavor losing its presence when combined with sauces or strong ingredients, although as it matures it becomes the protagonist or in a good way the ingredient that defines the flavor of the dish.
